Assessment of a National Safety Campaign for children
Context
The Not For Profit arm of a safety standards and science company wanted to improve the impact of their campaign to build safety awareness among school children. With this objective, we went in to understand the current reality, and see what needed to be done to achieve the end goal.
PROCESS
The tools we used were - Ecosystem map, Storyboard, Empathy map, Observation skills, Open - ended questions, Problem statement, Customer Benefit, Outside in Perspective, Biomimicry and Walk in the wild.
our findings
The Child’s Ecosystem of Influence
There are multiple points of influence in the child’s life, and sustained and consistent reinforcement is essential to successfully build safety awareness.
One of the critical aspects of the current program was that it drove a sense of competition, and so the end goal was about winning.
While the program worked well & delivered on most of the objectives, there were also opportunities to further bolster it and drive greater awareness.
Co-creation
Having identified the key problems to solve for, we got in to a co-creation with stakeholders and key members of the child’s ecosystem.
Next steps
These solutions are now to be implemented as part of the Safety Campaign being conducted by the team.
